Dialogue

This section of the OSSLT is a dialogue, or conversation, between people.  You can easily identify a dialogue by the use of quotation marks around a speaker's words.  There will be a series of multiple choice questions to answer after reading the text.

  • Read the dialogue carefully.
  • Use the highlighting tools and mark when each person speaks to help keep things clear.
  • Read the questions being asked and then go back to the dialogue to find the answers.  Do not skim.  Read carefully.
  • Use good reading skills.
    • If you don't know the meaning of a word, look at the context in which it is being used to help determine its meaning.
    • Think about what the writer and/or speaker may be inferring (hinting at).
